Moda range for mildly corrosive environments

The Moda range contains ferritic stainless steel grades for mildly corrosive environments in PRE range < 17. The most widely used ferritic grade, Moda 430/4016 (EN 1.4016), is a classic 16% chromium unstabilized ferritic stainless steel. Typical applications are kitchen equipment, household appliances, sinks and elevators.

Moda 410L/4003 (EN 1.4003) is unstabilized 12% chromium ferritic stainless steel designed for structural applications, like bus frames, having good welding characteristics and good impact properties in subzero temperatures.

Moda range offers also stabilized ferritic products, like Moda 409/4512 (EN 1.4512), which is particularly suitable for some automotive applications. In addition, Moda range ferritic stainless steels can show formability comparable to that of deep drawing quality carbon steels. Regarding welding characteristics, low interstitial levels and added stabilizers have made enormous improvements to ferritic stainless steels. Further, distortion and buckling is much lower during welding when compared to that of austenitic or duplex stainless steels due to their lower thermal expansion and higher thermal conductivity.

Moda range grades can be used in a wide range of applications supported with a broad selection of surface finishes from mills and service centers.
