Die Moda-Kategorie von Outokumpu umfasst ferritische Edelstähle für leicht korrosive Umgebungen im PRE-Bereich < 17. Die am häufigsten verwendete ferritische Güte, Moda 430/4016 (EN 1.4016), ist ein klassischer, nicht stabilisierter ferritischer Edelstahl mit einem Chromgehalt von 16 %. Typische Anwendungen sind Küchengeräte, Haushaltsgeräte, Spülen und Aufzüge.
Moda 410L/4003 (EN 1.4003) ist ein nicht stabilisierter ferritischer Edelstahl mit einem Chromgehalt von 12 %, der für strukturelle Anwendungen wie Busrahmen entwickelt wurde. Er verfügt über gute Schweißeigenschaften und gute Schlagfestigkeit bei Temperaturen unter Null.
Die Moda-Kategorie bietet auch stabilisierte ferritische Produkte, wie Moda 409/4512 (EN 1.4512), das sich besonders für einige Anwendungen in der Automobilindustrie eignet. Darüber hinaus können die ferritischen Edelstähle der Moda-Kategorie eine Umformbarkeit aufweisen, die mit derjenigen von Kohlenstoffstählen in Tiefziehqualität vergleichbar ist. Was die Schweißeigenschaften betrifft, haben niedrige Zwischengitterwerte und zugesetzte Stabilisatoren die ferritischen Edelstähle enorm verbessert. Außerdem ist der Verzug und das Ausbeulen beim Schweißen aufgrund der geringeren Wärmeausdehnung und der höheren Wärmeleitfähigkeit wesentlich geringer als bei austenitischen oder Duplex-Edelstählen.
Die Güten der Moda-Kategorie können in einer Vielzahl von Anwendungen eingesetzt werden, die durch eine breite Auswahl an Oberflächenausführungen von Walzwerken und Servicecentern unterstützt werden.
