OverviewOutokumpu Americas is built on the best of what stainless steel has to offer.
With a growing portfolio of both austenitic and ferritic grades from melt shop and cold-rolling mill in Calvert, Alabama, and our stainless steel finishing mill in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, where we have our own cold rolling mill as the only stainless steel producer. We are a clear #2 in the U.S. as well as the USMCA market. Outokumpu's Americas business area is well-positioned to serve the expanding needs of the Americas’ market.
Our operations in the Americas have a market share of 23% in the USMCA (U.S., Mexico and Canada) as well as in the U.S. We are the only stainless steel producer to have its own mill in Mexico.
With sales of EUR 1,707 million, the Americas business area sells all its products directly from the mill and significant majority goes to distributors.
Most of our employees work in our stainless steel mills in Calvert, Alabama, and San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
Known for its unmatched technical expertise, the Americas’ team offers the industry’s most comprehensive resources for material selection, technical support and product development. Focused on service center partnerships along with end use markets including the appliance, consumer goods and automotive industries, the Outokumpu team is poised to be the partner-of-choice across the Americas’ market.
The Americas’ team continues to grow its portfolio of austenitic and ferritic grades of coil, strip and sheet complementing Outokumpu’s global portfolio that is available to all Americas-based customers.
